Former Toombs County Commissioner Passes Away
Former Toombs County Commissioner Roy Lee Williams of Vidalia died on August 7 in California. Williams was a native of Toombs County. He was elected as a county commissioner in 1987 and retired in 2014. In 2001 he was appointed as district superintendent of J.P. Ward District in the Historic First Jurisdiction of Southern Georgia, Church of God in Christ. He was appointed pastor of Mosleytown Church of God in Christ in Tarrytown and Live Oak Church of God in Christ in Lyons.
A graveside service was held on Saturday, August 15.
