Lady Vikings Play 3 Games
The Treutlen County High School Lady Vikings softball team played three games last week, and got a win in one. They kicked off the week on Monday with a win over East Laurens, but fell on Wednesday to Hawkinsville and on Thursday to Telfair County.
Treutlen vs. E. Laurens
It was a good first inning for both teams. Treutlen scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but in the bottom of the frame the Falcons picked up five to jump out to a 5-3 lead. Treutlen battled back and tied the game at 5-5 with two runs in the top of the third inning. They took the lead in the fourth with three more runs to lead 7-5.
Treutlen added one more run in the seventh inning, and then held on as East Laurens scored two in the bottom of the final inning. Treutlen got the win, 9- 7.
Marleigh Clark and Courtenaya Jackson led the team with two hits each and three RBI's each. Makala Braddock got the win in the circle for the Vikings. Treutlen vs. Hawkinsville
Treutlen couldn't get the bats going against the Red Devils of Hawkinsville as they dropped the Region game 9-3.
Treutlen vs. Telfair
It was a close game early at home for Treutlen as it was tied 3-3 after the first inning. Telfair led 5-4 at the end of the second, but then the Lady Trojans began to pull away. Telfair posted three runs in the third inning and then broke the game open with 10 in the top of the fourth on their way to an 18-4 runrule win.
This week Treutlen hosted Hawkinsville on Tuesday after presstime and will be back in action on Thursday at Dublin at 5:00 p.m.
