Bishop James Ernest Jones, age 68, of Mount Vernon died early Sunday morning, September 27, 2020, after an extended illness. Bishop Jones, a native of Alston, lived the last nineteen years of his life in Mount Vernon. He was Bishop and Founder of the Lord Jesus Christ Disciple Church in Mount Vernon.

The family received friends for visitation at Lord Jesus Christ Disciple Church in Mount Vernon on Saturday October 3, 2020, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a graveside service that followed immediately at Cobb Creek Cemetery near Vidalia. Rev. George Chance officiated. Interment followed.

Ronnie L. Stewart Funeral Service Vidalia Chapel was in charge of service arrangements.
