Woman Dies in House Fire

State authorities are investigating an October 2 house fire in Tarrytown that claimed the life of an 84-year-old woman. The victim was identified as Patsy Springfield. No foul play is suspected, said Weston Burleson, Communications Director with the Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner’s office. Higgston Fire Chief John McLendon said his department arrived at 858 Conway McDonald Road at 5:46 p.m. with smoke showing at the residence. The firefighters were told a person was inside the house. McLendon said an immediate search recovered the body of the victim.
