Lady Vikings Get A Win
The Treutlen County High School Vikings softball team played in two games last week and then another on Monday of this week. They rolled over Dublin by the run rule at home on Monday, but fell to Telfair County on Tuesday also by the run rule. On Monday of this week they took on Johnson County and lost to the Trojans.
Treutlen vs. Dublin
Treutlen got things going in the bottom of the first inning with four runs to take the early lead. They added five more in the second inning and then closed things out in the third with a big six run inning to win the game by the run rule, 15- 0. Marleigh Clark led the way with 6 RBI's on the night on just two hits. Destiny Hester added 3 RBI's. Gracie Hardy got the win for the Vikings in the circle allowing just two hits.
Treutlen vs. Telfair
The Vikings scored first with a run in the top of the first inning, but Telfair bounced back with three in the bottom of the frame to jump ahead. They added two more in the second and then five in the third.
Telfair held over the next two innings to win the game by the run rule, 10-1.
Treutlen vs. Johnson
Runs in the first two innings for the Trojans did in the Vikings. Johnson picked up a run in the first inning and added four more in the second to hold a 5-0 lead. Treutlen got on the board in the top of the fourth inning, but Johnson answered in the bottom with one run. The Vikings picked up two more in the fifth to make the score 6-3, but the Trojans scored two in the bottom half for an 8-3 lead. Treutlen did get a run in each of the last two innings, but it was not enough as they fell 8-5. Hester led the way with 2 RBI's for Treutlen. Treutlen had just one more game in the regular season, and they played that on Tuesday night after presstime against Wilcox County.
