Stokes, Jr., of Savannah, died on Monday, October 19, 2020, at his residence. Mr. Stokes was a native of Toombs County. He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 23 years.

Sur v i vo r s include 1 special friend, Betty Williams, Vidalia; 3 sons, Markerel (Kyaundra) Stokes, Vidalia, Horace (Nicole) Stokes III, Warner Robins, and Noah Stokes, Texas; 4 daughters, Lisa (Douglas) Thomas, Savannah, and Valerie ( James) Williams, Carmen (James) Mills, and Amanda Wilson, all of Vidalia; 2 brothers, Johnny Spikes and Nathaniel Spikes, both of Florida; 21 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

A graveside funeral service was held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at East Park Cemetery in Vidalia.
