Mrs. Margarita Castro

Mrs. Margarita Castro, age 82, of Lyons, died Sunday, November 1, 2020, at her residence after an extended illness. Mrs. Castro was a native of Mexico, living most of her life in the United States, and settled in Lyons to raise and establish a family. She was a housewife and also Catholic by Faith. Mrs. Castro was preceded in death by her husband, Guadalupe Castro; and two sons, Inocente Castro and Rosendo

Castro. Mrs. Castro is survived by seven sons, Jose Alfredo Castro of Lyons, Jose Guadalupe Castro Jr. of Lyons, Jose Angel Castro of Dalton, Elisar Castro of Lyons, Rosauro Castro of Vidalia, J.C. Castro of Vidalia, and Isauro Castro of Lyons; and six daughters, Rosa Silvan of Lyons, Margarita Hernandez of Lyons, Luciana Castro of Bainbridge, Marta Alicia Venegas of Ashford, Alabama, Silvia Hernandez of Texas, and Maria Castro of Dalton. Sixty-Seven grandchildren, and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

A Funeral Mass for Mrs. Margarita Castro will be held Friday, November 6, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Vidalia with Father Gordian Iwuji officiating. Interment will follow at Lyons City Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation at the funeral home on Thursday, November 5, 2020, at 4:00 p.m. with a Rosary service scheduled for 6:00 p.m.
