Suspect Attacks Police, Charges Pending
Lyons police had their hands full last Thursday when they responded to a domestic complaint called into the 911 emergency response center. Chief Wesley Walker said officers responded to a residence on North Victory Drive where they discovered a man who was either having a reaction to drugs or experiencing a mental crisis. The suspect allegedly lunged at officers and attempted to bite them. One officer was knocked to the floor and sustained a minor shoulder injury.
The suspect was secured and taken to Meadows Regional Medical Center. Drugs found in his possession were secured and sent to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation’s crime lab for analysis. Charges are pending.
