Mrs. Bernadine J. “Bernie” White, age 60, of the Blue Ridge Community, died on Friday, November 27, 2020, in the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mrs. White was a native of Toombs County, living in Blue Ridge most of her life, and was a 1978 graduate of Lyons Senior High School. She worked at Meadows Health in Vidalia for 36 years as a transcriptionist and a medical records specialist. She was a member of East Gordon Street Baptist Church in Lyons. She was preceded in death by her father, Archie Jarriel, and her mother, Verna Lou Moore Jarriel Blalock and stepfather, William Blalock. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, Johnny White of Blue Ridge; 1 daughter, Jeanna White of Savannah; 2 sisters, Kathy Steransky and husband Bob, and Jeri Johnson, all of Blue Ridge; 1 niece, Amber Meeks and husband Dustin of Cedar Crossing; and 1 nephew, Archie Edenfield and wife Jessica of Blue Ridge. The funeral service was held on Sunday, November 29, 2020, at 2:00 p.m., in East Gordon Street Baptist Church, with Pastor Bruce Conner officiating. Burial followed in Old Reedy Creek Cemetery in Blue Ridge. Pallbearers were Michael Edenfield, Gideon Edenfield, Calvin Jarriel, Gary Bryant, John Morris and Jason Edenfield.
