Busy Week For Crusaders
It was a busy week for the Crusaders basketball teams of Robert Toombs Christian Academy as they took on Thomas Jefferson on Tuesday, Bulloch Academy on Friday and wrapped up the week with Alleluia Community on Saturday. The girls picked up one win, while the boys won all three of their games to improve to 8-1 on the year.
Girls vs. TJ The girls kept it close against the Lady Jaguars of Thomas Jefferson in Louisville. RTCA had their highest point output of the season with 32, as they have struggled this year to find the basket. But even with that TJ came out on top of the close game, 37-32.
Boys vs. TJ
The boys won their game going away, and were never challenged. RTCA picked up the easy 61-38 win over the Jaguars as their solid season continues.
Girls vs. Bulloch
On Friday in Statesboro the girls fell to the larger Bulloch Lady Gators. RTCA was hounded on defense all game and put just 15 points on the board as they fell, 50-15.
Boys vs. Bulloch
RTCA held an early 5-2 lead, but Bulloch tied it at 7-7. Bulloch went ahead 9-7 on a fast break and held a 13-9 lead later in the first. RTCA came back and went ahead 23-20 in the second period, but again the Gators went on a run and went back on top, 28-26. continued from page
RTCA took the lead back late in the first half, 30-28. A late three from Bulloch put them on top 33-32.
In the third period both teams offense really got going with RTCA leading 52-50. RTCA was up 62-58 in the fourth, but a three-pointer from the Gators closed that to 62-61. RTCA went on a late run, though, and pulled away to a 79-66 win.
Girls vs. Alleluia
RTCA faced Alleluia Community of Augusta on Saturday and the girls got a big win. It was a low scoring game, but the Lady Crusaders came out on top 28-22.
Boys vs. Alleluia
The boys also won their game, and did so by 25 points. RTCA came out on top of the game, 75-50.
This week RTCA played Thomas Jefferson at home on Monday, and will be back in action on Thursday at Pinewood Christian at 6:00 p.m. They will then play Trinity Christian on Friday at home at 6:00 p.m.
