Bulldogs Get Two Wins

The Wheeler County High School boys basketball team played three games last week winning two of those contests. The girls program was off and will be back in action after dealing with COVID protocals.

Boys vs. Dublin

The boys had a rough second period against the Irish as Dublin got the Region win. Dublin was up 21-15 at the end of the first, but in the second they outscored the Bulldogs 26-5 as they took a 47-20 halftime lead.

In the third Dublin extended that lead to 64-31, and the Irish won the game 78-43.

Boys vs. Wilcox

In the first period Wilcox was up 12-8, but in the second Wheeler went on a run and took the lead. The Bulldogs were up 26-20 at the end of the half. Wilcox closed that lead in the third, and heading to the fourth, the game was tied at 35-35. Wheeler again went on a run in the fourth on as they pulled away and got the win, 59-46.

Boys vs. Treutlen

On Friday the Bulldogs hosted their rival the Vikings and got another Region win. It was a close game, but Wheeler got the win, 68-60.
