Mrs. Margaret Young

Mrs. Margaret Ann Walker Young, age 56, of Lyons, died on Thursday, March 25, 2021, in Meadows Health in Vidalia after a sudden illness. Mrs. Young was a native of Plant City, FL, and she and her family moved to Collins in 1973. She was a 1983 graduate of Reidsville High School, and she lived in Lyons since 1988. She worked at Toombs County Manufacturing and at Lyons Nursery and Landscape. She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Lyons and attended Calvary on Aimwell in Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her parents, James Willis Walker and Betty Jean Wilds Walker. Survivors include her husband, Sam Young of Lyons; 3 children, Dusty Young and wife Jennifer of Vidalia, Trent Young and Megan Toole of Lyons, and Brandy Young Bray and husband James of Vidalia; 4 sisters, Betty Jo Jarriel and husband Lee, Linda Kaye Hansen and husband Bob, all of Collins, Anita Faircloth and husband Stine of Metter, and Patsy Ernst and husband Mike of Collins; 2 brothers, Johnny Walker and wife Leslie of Collins, and Willis Wayne Walker and wife Jennifer of Cobbtown; 5 grandchildren, Tyler Bray and wife Rachel, Landon Bray, Brayden Helms, Blayne Helms, and Drake Young; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Monday, March 29, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., in Fairview Baptist Church, with Pastor Efton Green, Pastor Glenn Russell and Pastor Steven Toole officiating. Burial followed in Rocky Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Jordan Walker, Troy Walker, Travis Walker, Brian Lee, Jason Collins and T.J. Walker.
