Mr. Rexford Johnson

Mr. Rexford Johnson, age 78, of Cedar Crossing, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 24, 2021, at Meadows Regional Hospital in Vidalia after a sudden illness. Rex worked for the Board of Education for many years in the security Dept. until his retirement. Rex was well known in the community for his wonderful, fun-loving personality and charming wit, he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He is preceded in death by both parents; several siblings; and one sweet precious granddaughter, Kristen Flanagan. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife, Barbara Johnson of Cedar Crossing; two sons, Mike (Scarlett) Johnson of Alston, and Steven (Chrell) Johnson of Alston; one daughter, Cheryl (Jovel) Segear of Johnstown, PA; one brother, Brent (Rosita) Johnson of Vidalia; and three sisters, Lois Whitman of Mc-Natt Falls, Anna Pittman of Lyons, and Myrl Gosa of Rome. Five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive.

The family received friends on Saturday, March 27, 2021, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Roberts– Stewart Funeral Home of Vidalia for visitation.

Funeral service was held on Sunday, March 28, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Roberts–Stewart Funeral Home, Vidalia Chapel with Rev. Steven Toole and Rev. Reese Mincey officiating. Interment followed at Cedar Crossing Church of God Cemetery in Cedar Crossing.
