RTCA Over Memorial

Robert Toombs Christian Academy took on First Presbyterian Christian Academy last Thursday on the road and lost a tough game. They then came back on Monday of this week over Memorial Day.

vs. FPCA

RTCA took an early 4-0 lead over the Highlanders. Rob Moore had a 2 RBI double, and Dawson Pinkard added a homerun as RTCA built up that lead. Hayden Kight walked in the second inning to load the bases for the Crusaders, and then a passed ball brought in Tucker Heath for a 5-0 lead. RTCA added two more runs in the top of the third inning to push the lead to 7-0. They held that until the bottom of the fourth inning when FPCA closed it to 7-1.

In the sixth FPCA closed it to 7-5 with an RBI double, and then they added one more to make it a one-run game.

In the bottom of the seventh inning FPCA tied the game with two outs, 7-7, and came through with a game winning hit to the outfield, bringing in a run for an 8-7 comeback win over the Crusaders.

Moore threw 5 innings of 2 hit baseball striking out 8 but walking 8, and Karson Evans came in the game in relief but couldn't stop the bleeding as FPCA overcame a 6 run deficit in the 6th to beat the RTCA crusaders 8-7. Karson Evans get the loss.

vs. Memorial

RTCA went ahead with a run in the top of the first inning. Memorial scored four runs in the bottom of the first inning to jump ahead, 4-1 over the Crusaders.

Memorial added two more in the second inning to take a 6-1 lead over RTCA. RTCA got the bats going as they began to storm back. By the end of the sixth inning RTCA had jumped ahead of Memorial 8-6. RTCA added seven more runs in the top of the seventh inning as they pushed it to a 13-6 lead.

The Crusaders held in the bottom of the final inning to take the win, 13-6 over Memorial.

RTCA hosted Pinewood on Tuesday of this week after presstime, and will be back in action on Thursday at Twiggs Academy at 4:00 p.m. and will host Fullington Academy at 2:00 p.m. on Friday.
