Bullard Signs Letter of Intent
Last Thursday morning at Toombs County High School, Amya Bullard, a forward for the Lady Bulldogs basketball team, signed a letter of intent for a scholarship to play basketball for the Thomas University Night Hawks in Thomasville, Ga. Bullard finishes her career at Toombs County as an honor graduate, three year starter for the basketball team, a two-time All-Region basketball player. Bullard was also a member of the softball and track teams. Bullard helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to the State Playoffs this past season.
Bullard said, “I really feel like I am in a dream right now because I have always wanted to play college basketball since I started playing basketball at the recreation department. I am very thankful to everybody that has helped me get to this point. I like the coaches at Thomas University; they make you feel like you are part of a family just like we do here at Toombs County. I want to major in biology there and then hopefully go on to medical school.”
TCHS Head Coach Melody Walker stated, “She is such an incredible young lady. First, Amya is solid in academics and an honor graduate with distinction and she really holds that bar high. We have been tremendously blessed to have her as a part of our program. She has worked really hard. This was a dream for her and we are blessed to be a part of this and make her dream come true.”
