RTCA Gets Two Wins

The Crusaders of Robert Toombs Christian Academy fell to Pinewood Christian on Tuesday of last week but bounced back with wins over Twiggs Academy and Fullington Academy.

vs. Pinewood

The Crusaders defense was not able to handle the constant pressure from the Pinewood offense and found themselves down 9-1 after 3 innings. Hayden Kite took the loss pitching three innings surrendering 9 runs on 4 hits combined with 5 Crusader errors. Clayton Meadows came in relief and was able to hold the Pinewood offense to only 1 run over his 4 innings. The Crusaders were not able to mount many scoring threats and took the loss, 10-1. Rob Moore and Tucker Heath led the Crusaders offense with 2 hits each. Karson Evans scored the only Crusader run on an RBI groundout by Bradlan McDonald in the bottom of the first inning.

vs. Twiggs

RTCA had no problems with Twiggs Academy on Thursday in Jeffersonville. By the end of the fourth inning the Crusaders were well out in front, 11-3. RTCA added four more runs as they took the win over the Trojans, 15-4.

vs. Fullington

On Friday the Crusaders picked up another win as they routed the Trojans of Fullington at home. RTCA picked up a run in the bottom of the second inning and then added three more in the third to take a 4-0 lead.

It was a big fifth inning that sealed the win as RTCA plated eight runs to win the game by the run rule, 12-0. RTCA is off this week and will be back on the diamond next week.
