Mrs. Minnie Kersey
Mrs. Minnie Foskey Kersey, age 93, of Adrian, died on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at the Treutlen County Health and Rehabilitation Center in Soperton.
Mrs. Kersey was born in Treutlen County and graduated from Soperton High School in 1947. She attended Swainsboro Technical College and graduated in Bookkeeping and Typing with a Clerical Degree in 1968. She worked with the Citizens Bank of Swainsboro and retired in 1994. After retiring, she volunteered at Emanuel County Hospital as a Pink lady at the front desk. She was a member of Adrian United Methodist Church and was a member of the Charge Choir for 32 years. She served as Treasurer of Adrian Methodist Church for 14 years, was a member to the Adrian Methodist annual conference several years back and a member of Young at Heart and the Friendship Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Von Lanier Kersey.
Survivors include 2 sons, Larry Kersey (Teresa), Lizella, and Randy Kersey (Mikki), Perry; 3 grandchildren, Jill Turner, Harrison, Mitchell Kersey, Macon, and Chip Kersey, Warner Robins; and 6 great-grandchildren, Taylor Turner, Josh Turner, Connor Kersey, Ruston Pagan, Sean Lewis and Drew Lewis.
Funeral services were conducted on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., at Adrian United Methodist Church, with Rev. Mark Hardin officiating. Interment followed in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Sammons Funeral Home in Soperton was in charge of arrangements.
