TCHS Soccer Falls To Calvary
The Toombs County High School soccer teams played just one set of matches last week as they traveled to Calvary Day School on Friday. The Cavaliers played two solid matches and came away with the wins.
Girls
In the girls game it was all Calvary as they put four goals on the board in the first half of the contest, and then added three more in the second half. That gave the Lady Cavaliers a 7-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Boys
In the boys game the Cavaliers also blanked the Bulldogs as they won their contest 5-0 over the Bulldogs.
One of the highlights of the night happened after the boys match as Calvary Coach Chad Griffin and his players presented the TCHS Bulldogs with a #20 Cavalier jersey in remembrance of Julio Almanza, who was killed in a car accident last spring.
The Bulldogs have just one more regular season match scheduled, and that will take place this Friday when they host Bradwell Institute out of Hinesville. The girls game will kick off at 5:00 p.m. with the boys to follow.
