Toombs County 4-H BB Team Competes in District Match
The Toombs County 4-H BB Team competed in the Southeast Area BB Match in Lyons. Toombs County had eleven participants in the event. Members were attempting to qualify for the state match which will be held next month at Rock Eagle. To qualify, teams had to score 1550 points and individuals had to score 310 points.
Participants from Toombs County included Grayson Akins, Kaleb Bailey, Ty Foskey, Grayson Fulmer, Tyson Hart, Lane Morris, Top Peterson, Modesto Quintana, Kallie Rollins, Harper Underwood and Kami Winn. The BB Team is coached by 4-H Volunteers Brett and Lori Copeland. Eight individuals advanced to the state match at Rock Eagle 4-H Center on April 24, 2021. Advancing to the state match are Kaleb Bailey, Ty Foskey, Tyson Hart, Lane Morris, Top Peterson, Kallie Rollins, Harper Underwood and Kami Winn. The BB Team program is offered through the Toombs County Extension Office and is a program of 4-H Project S.A.F.E. in Georgia. The S.A.F.E program teaches youth the core concepts of safety, ethical development, personal responsibility and lifetime recreational skills. In BB, the shooters are scored in four positions: prone, standing, sitting and kneeling. They also have to take a written test on firearm safety.
