She was preceded in death by her husband, James H. Altman; her parents, Joseph Rhett and Dessie Okella Spivey Martin; and 1 grandson, Shane Williams.

Survivors include 2 children, Lucinda Miller and Patricia Harris; 6 grandchildren, Jamie May, Shannon Everhart, Damien May, Kimberly Clark, Pam McElhenney, and Tom McElhenney; 4 great-grandchildren, Victoria Everhart, Landon Everhart, Ryland May, and Trey Wingate; and 2 nieces, Wanda Hallman and Ruth Harden.

No public services will be held.

Low Country Cremation and Burial was in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Tommie Altman

Mrs. Altman was born in Toombs County. She and her husband established a long running Altman’s Insurance business in Vidalia. She was retired for 23 years.

Mrs. Tommie L. Altman, age 85, died on Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Community Hospice.
