Mrs. Ruth Milligan Branch, age ….

Mrs. Ruth Milligan Branch, age 94, of Vidalia, died on Tuesday, May 4, 2021, in The Oaks Bethany in Vidalia after an extended illness. Mrs. Branch was a native of the Long Pond Community in Montgomery County and lived most of her life in Vidalia. She worked at United 5& 10 in Vidalia for 2 years, in Hazlehurst as assistant manager for 19 years, and at Hazlehurst Nursing Home for 10 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hazlehurst. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Branch; her parents, Joseph Otto Milligan, Sr., and Ammie Bell Garrett Milligan; and 7 siblings, Aubrey Milligan, Sara Milligan Smith, Paul Milligan, Joe Milligan, Rufus Milligan, Mayo Milligan, and Frances Milligan Witt.

Survivors include 2 brothers, Billy Milligan and wife Pinky of Cedar Crossing, and Donald Milligan and wife Sandy of Seattle, WA; 1 sister, Bernese Callahan of Lakeland, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A graveside funeral service was held on Thursday, May 6, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., with Jim Meadows officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to The Gideons International, P.O. Box 156, Vidalia, GA 30475.
