Mrs. Barbara Joiner Doty, age 63, of Vidalia, died on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at the Community Hospice House in Vidalia after a brief illness. Mrs. Doty was a native of Savannah and lived there and in Hinesville most of her life. She moved to southeast South Dakota in 1992, and has lived near Vidalia in Montgomery County since 2009. She was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her father, Ephraim Joiner; her mother, Bobbie Nell Davis Joiner Reyes; and stepfather, Manuel Reyes; and 1 sister, Sandra Joiner Johnson. Survivors include her husband, Aaron Doty of Vidalia; 3 children, Shannon Doty and Sam Halverson, Jennie Samuels and husband Jason, all of Sioux Falls, SD, and Joey Dixon and wife Whitnie of Hinesville; 7 grandchildren, Shelane, Logan, Brooke, Nicole, Lily, Ava, and Liam; and her furbaby, Rosie. The funeral service was held on Monday, May 17, 2021, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home. Burial will follow later in South Dakota.
