2021/2022 Dress Code
General Guidelines
Clothing or acces sories that depict inappropriate messages of any kind, to include, but not limited to, violence, gambling, gangs, prejudice, racism, sexual innuendoes, political messages, alcohol, drugs, and/or tobacco are not allowed.
Clothing that is dis ruptive or distracting to the learning environment is not allowed.
No clothing may
draw attention to anatomical parts.
Proper undergar ments must be worn at all times and must not be visible.
Clothing must be
worn on the correct side.
No bandana print
on any clothing or accessories
Midriffs are not al lowed to be visible at any time
Tops (Shirts, Sweatshirts, Vests, Jackets, and Outerwear) Shirts, sweatshirts,
vests, jackets, and outerwear are allowed in any color or pattern, with the exception of bandana print. Examples of a pattern include stripe, polka dot, checkered, etc… No words or pic tures are allowed on shirts, sweatshirts, jackets, and outerwear, with the exception of the clothing brand logo. Vidalia city school system affiliated shirts (VHS, JRT, SDM, and JDDP), Vidalia city affiliated shirts, collegiate, and professional sports organizations are the only exceptions and are allowed.
Sleeveless shirts are
allowed but must extend to the shoulder. Sleeves must be worn on the shoulder. They are not allowed to be pulled down. No tank tops are allowed.
Shirts must cover
all undergarments. No lace or see-through shirts are allowed. All cleavage must be completely covered.
Trench coats are not
permitted.
Hoods on jackets
are NOT allowed to be worn inside of the building.
Pants/ Bottoms
Pants, jeans, athletic
pants, and joggers are allowed (athletic pants do not include jeggings, leggings, or yoga pants). Shorts, jeggings, leggings, and yoga pants are not allowed.
No writing or pic tures allowed on pants or jeans, with the exception of the brand logo.
Pants/Bottoms are
allowed in any color or pattern, with the exception of bandana print.
No pajamas are al –
lowed.
No holes or fake
holes are allowed. This includes holes covered by strings.
Leggings are al lowed ONLY with dresses or skirts.
Dresses and skirts
are allowed ONLY with leggings. Dresses and skirts must touch the top of the knee.
Pants must be worn
at the natural waist and must be the correct size to conceal undergarments.
Shoes
Bare feet, slippers,
bedroom shoes, or cleats will not be allowed.
Shoes with shoe laces must be tied. Shoes with Velcro must be fastened.
Open toe shoes are
allowed (slides, Birkenstock, flip flops can be worn) Headgear/Jewelry/ Accessories Headgear wider
than two inches may not be worn in the building unless for a special day designated by the school. Headgear includes, but not limited to, hats, beanies, bandanas, scarves, shower caps, and bonnets.
No writing or pic tures allowed on headgear, with the exception of the brand logo.
Hair must be free of
all grooming items.
Body paint or writ ing on skin is not allowed.
No clothing acces sories or jewelry with spikes or protruding studs are allowed, no chains hanging from clothing or pockets are allowed.
No objects should
be attached to clothing unless school related (ribbons, buttons, towels, etc…).
Items, accessories,
and tattoos that signify or are related to gangs, gang membership, or gang activity or are disruptive to school safety and discipline are prohibited and are required to be covered.
Items, accessories,
and tattoos that contain vulgarity, political advertisement, sexual innuendos, tobacco products, alcoholic products, firearms, or illegal substances are prohibited and are required to be covered.
Earrings and stud ded nose rings are allowed. All other piercings must be covered or removed while on campus.
Cosmetics must be
worn in a manner so as not to draw excessive attention as to distract others.
Any person whose
religious affiliation does not coincide with the school dress code must file for variance with administration.
Administration has the right to make adjustments to the dress code for the benefit of students and/or for safety.
