Mrs. Sandra Hoffman
Mrs. Sandra Jean Hoffman, age 83, formerly of Thomaston, CT, died on Thursday, July 15, 2021, at the home of her daughter in Tarrytown. Mrs. Hoffman was born in Middletown, CT, grew up in Lebanon, CT, and was a 1956 graduate of Durham High School. She worked as a Registered Nurse in Labor and Delivery at Meriden Hospital before joining the Plymouth Board of Education and serving as the School Nurse at many of the schools in Plymouth and Terryville. She retired after over 30 years and continued as a hall monitor, until completely retiring in 2015. She and her husband then moved to Tarrytown. She attended the First Congregational Churches in Terryville and Thomaston. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wesley Everett Barrett and Ella Mertie Roberts; and 3 brothers, Renwood Jecusco, James Barrett, and Stephen Jecusco.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, James E. “Jim” Hoffman, Tarrytown; 1 son, Greg Hoffman and wife Terry, Southington, CT; 1 daughter, Tracy Kight and husband Cale, Tarrytown; 4 brothers, Rodney Barrett, Seminole, FL, Wesley Barrett, Misquamicut, RI, Jeffrey Barrett and wife Sofie, Perry, GA, and Warren Barrett and wife Kathleen, Port Angeles, WA; 6 grandchildren, Sarah Dlugoszewski and husband Scott, Southington, CT, Douglas Hoffman and wife Katie, Southington, CT, Alex Doe and husband Nathan, Charlton, MA, Jordan Hoffman Sconziano, Tarrytown, Jaimee Hoffman Sconziano, Tarrytown, and Jacob Hoffman Sconziano, Tarrytown; 3 great-grandchildren, Wesley, Leah and Esther; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Hoffman will be laid to rest at a later date in Hillside Cemetery, Plymouth, CT.
