from. Williamson competed and made the 2021, Single A through 4A classification, GCCA All-State Team.
The selection process is very involved. The athletes are chosen not only on their ability as a cheerleader, but also on academics, and and essay and interview process. 165 seniors from around the state are nominated each year by their coaches. They then go through the application process, which involves GPA, organization and club participation, honors and awards, community activities, personal essay, and two letters of recommendation.
The top 30 are then selected and they compete to be a part of the 16-member All-State Team. To reach that final team they are graded in several categories. The application is 25% of the score, interview is 25%, and their competitive routine is the remaining 50% of the score.
They are judged on the routine as follows: jumps: degree of difficulty (dod) 10 points / execution 14 points; standing tumbling: dod 5 points / execution 7 points; running tumbling: dod 5 points / execution 7 points; partner stunts/ tosses: dod 10 points / execution 14 points; dance technique and showmanship: 10 points; cheer / chant technique and showmanship: 10 points; overall impression and perfection of routine: 8 points.
Williamson had a solid performance in her routine to go along with her outstanding resume as a student and member of the community. She was named as a member of the GCCA All-State Team.
