Wheeler: Two Indicted on Vehicular Homicide Charges
The August term of the Wheeler County Grand Jury returned true bills of indictment in two cases involving charges of vehicular homicide.
In all of the cases considered by the Grand Jury, 27 true bills and 0 no bills were returned.
Randonovan Anthony Lewis of Alamo was indicted on five counts stemming from a March 27, 2021, collision on Georgia Highway near Glenwood that killed former Montgomery County Magistrate Judge Mona Elaine Bell and seriously injured her grandson, Joshua Bragg.

Lewis is charged with two counts of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, one count of serious injury by vehicle, two counts of driving under the influence, and two counts of reckless driving. In a second case, Bobby Rowland of Alamo was indicted on four charges in an incident that claimed the life of his wife, Rebecca Rowland. The incident occurred as Mr. Rowland was operating a Polaris Ranger on Cattle Road/Springhill Road on September 26, 2020. Newspaper reports of the incident stated that Mrs. Rowland was pinned beneath the Polaris after it overturned. Rowland is charged with one count of homicide by vehicle in the first degree, two counts of driving under the influence, and one count of failure to maintain lane. Other indictments include: Nykilya Balkcom of Hazlehurst, who was employed at the Wheeler Correctional Facility on May 13, 2020, at the time of the incidents that resulted in charges against her, was indicted on one count of Possession of a Schedule 1 Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute, one count of Furnishing Prohibited Items to Inmates, and one count of Violation of Oath by Public Officer. Shejerrius Lebeatrice King of McRae-Helena, who was employed at the Wheeler Correctional Facility on July 11, 2020, at the time of the incidents that resulted in charges against her, was indicted on one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine, one count of Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, two counts of Furnishing Prohibited Items to Inmates, two counts of Crossing the Guard Lines With Drugs, and one count of Violation of Oath by Public Officer.
Markita Jackson of Dublin, who was employed at the Wheeler Correctional Facility on June 6, 2020, at the time of the incidents that resulted in charges against her, was indicted on one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine, one count of furnishing Prohibited Items to Inmates, one count of Crossing the Guard Lines With Drugs, one count of Violation of Oath by Public Officer and one count of Crossing Guard Lines With a Weapon. Wesley Fountain of Mt. Vernon, was indicted on one count of Crossing the Guard Lines With Drugs and one count of Possession of Marijuana, Less than One Ounce. The incident occurred on September 9, 2020. Nykeita Balkcom of Hazlehurst, who was employed at the Wheeler Correctional Facility on December 12, 2019, at the time of the incidents that resulted in charges against her, was indicted on one count of Trafficking Methamphetamine, two counts of Furnishing Prohibited Items to Inmates, one count of Crossing the Guard Lines With Drugs, and one count of Violation of Oath by Public Officer.
Two defendants, Shane Elliot Richardson and Stanley Butler, both of Glenwood, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime, were indicted for one count of Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute, one count of Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Felony, one count of Obstruction of an Officer, and on one count of Possession of Drug Related Objects. Additionally, Richardson was indicted on one count of Possession of a Firearm by First Offender Probationer. The incident occurred on October 2, 2019.
Two defendants, David Jarrel Collins and Juan Manuel Venegas, both of Alamo, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime, were indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute and one count of Possession of Drug Related Objects. The incident occurred on October 21, 2019.
Dakota Jordan Crews of Nahunta, was indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine and one count of Possession of Marijuana, Less than an Ounce. The incident occurred on January 20, 2020.
Four defendants, Jody Cooper of Rentz and Candice Cronan, Beverly Sue Taylor and Terry Wolf, all of Glenwood, were indicted of charges stemming from a January 14, 2020, incident. Cooper was indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine; Cronan and Wolf, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime, were indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine; Wolf was indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine; and Taylor was indicted on one count of Possession of Hydrocodone.
Two defendants, Jillian Chelsea Blocker and Aaron Calvin Mills, both of Dublin, were indicted on charges stemming from an incident occurring between April 16, 2021, and April 17, 2021. Blocker and Calvin, individually and as parties concerned in the commission of a crime, were indicted on two counts of Aggravated Battery, on two counts of Aggravated Assault, one count of Arson in the Third Degree, and two counts of Cruelty to Children.
Dustin Michael Brooks of Alamo, was indicted on one count of Crossing the Guard Line With Contraband, one count of Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Benzodiazepine), one count of Interference With Government Property, and one count of Drugs Not in Original Container. The incident occurred on June 12, 2021, at the Wheeler County Sheriff’s Office and Jail in Alamo. William Davis of Glenwood, was indicted on one count of Manufacture of Methamphetamine, one count of Possession of Methamphetamine With Intent to Distribute, two counts of Obstruction of an Officer, and one count of Possession of Drug Related Objects. The charges against Davis stemmed from an alleged March 10, 2021, incident.
Kristal Paige Kitchens of Glenwood, was indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine. The charges stemmed from an incident on March 6, 2021.
Jimmy Lee Ashley of Hazlehurst was indicted on one count of Possession of Marijuana With Intent to Distribute, on one count of Possession of Firearm During Commission of a Felony, and one count of Tag Light Violation. The charges stemmed from a May 1, 2021, incident.
Serena Nicole Edge of Glenwood was indicted on one count of Possession of a Schedule IV Controlled Substance (Benzodiazepine), on one count of Possession of Marijuana, Less than One Ounce, one count of Failure to Maintain Lane, and one count of Tag Light Violation. The charged stemmed from a June 16, 2021, incident.
Damon Herald Hollis of Glenwood, was indicted on one count of Theft by Receiving Stolen Property and one count of Theft by Bringing Stolen Property into the State. The charges stemmed from a June 30, 2021, incident.
Danny Tyler Turner of McRae-Helena, was indicted on one count of Possession of Methamphetamine and two counts of Forgery in the Fourth Degree, in a September 22, 2020, incident.
Trevor Austin Montford of Glenwood, was indicted on one count of Burglary in the First Degree in a September 14, 2020, incident. He was also indicted on one count of Cruelty to Children in the Second Degree, one count of Cruelty to Children in the Third Degree, and one count of Battery, Family Violence, in a December 15, 2020, incident.
Marissa Powell of Alamo was indicted on one count of Battery in a May 11, 2020, incident.
