Mr. Greg Holmes, 58, of ….

Mr. Greg Holmes, 58, of Vidalia, died on Friday, September 24, 2021, at his home after a sudden illness.

Mr. Holmes was a lifelong resident of Vidalia and a 1981 graduate of Vidalia Comprehensive High School. He was a pipefitter with H.A. Sack Company in Statesboro, and earlier in his life, worked several years as a meat cutter with McLemore’s Abattoir in Vidalia. He was preceded in death by his father, Henry T. Holmes. His family includes 1 son, Jason Holmes and wife Rachel; his mother, Elaine Gross Holmes; 3 siblings, Sheron Holmes Hulett and husband Joe, all of Vidalia, Danny Holmes of Higgston, and Rhonda Holmes Sheffield and husband Dale; 3 grandchildren, Abram Holmes, Ethan Holmes, and Lilly Holmes, all of Vidalia; and several nephews.

The funeral service was held on Monday, September 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Efton Green officiating. Burial followed in Pinecrest Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Buddy Holmes, Sebastian Holmes, David Stanley, Jr., Ashley Gross, Billy Lawrence, and John Claxton.
