Mrs. Charlotte Sanders English, ….

Mrs. Charlotte Sanders English, age 79, of Vidalia, died on Sunday, October 24, 2021, at Glenwood Health Care after a brief illness.

Mrs. English was born in Lyons, grew up in Tattnall County, and graduated in 1958 from Toombs Central School. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Georgia Teachers College in Statesboro, and retired after more than 30 years from J.D. Dickerson Elementary, where she taught first grade. She lived in Brunswick for 13 years and moved to Vidalia in 1977. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy W. English; and her parents, John Sanders and Catherine Todd Sanders.

Her family includes 2 sons, Mark English and wife Cindy of Jacksonville, FL, and David English and wife Kay of Vidalia; 1 sister, Beverly Gibbs, and 1 brother, John Sanders, both of Reidsville; 8 grandchildren, Christopher Closser, C.J. English, Tristan English, Maggie English, Evie English, Samuel English, Analeigh English, and Sophie English; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

A graveside funeral service was held on Wednesday, October 27, 2021, at 2:00 p.m., in Pinecrest Cemetery, with Rev. Daniel Gilliam officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Serenity Hospice, 520 Hillcrest Parkway, Dublin, GA 31021.
