A compilation of quotations on a variety of issues by national, state and regional writers, well-known personalities, just plain everyday people and from various publications collected by the editors of THE ADVANCE.
Quotes for our Times:
Brian C. Joondeph, writer for American Thinker: We Wish You an Un-Merry Christmas.
The federal government wants to spend money it doesn’t have which will lead to too much money chasing too few goods, exacerbating already the worst inflation in 40 years.
Biden’s vaccine mandates will grind America to a halt, with pilots, law enforcement, first responders, healthcare providers, and many essential workers saying no to a forced vaccine, all in time for the upcoming holiday season. Instead of it “beginning to look a lot like Christmas” it is beginning to look like Cloward-Piven chaos, with little hope for improvement.
David Ennocenti, writer for American Thinker: Why Democrats' scheme to tax unrealized capital gains should terrify you.
What needs to be considered is this: what exactly did those companies distribute when they paid those cash dividends? They paid them in worthless paper. Think about it on a personal level. If you live in a house worth $100,000 and it is reassessed for $125,000, do you have $25,000 in cash available to spend? Try writing a check against that. Unfortunately, that is what corporations were doing. Beyond that, this is exactly what the Democrat plan is for.
Leah Barkoukis, online features editor at Townhall.com: Surgeon loses his job after defending parents' right to decide whether to mask kids.
Dr. Jeffrey Horak [surgeon in Minnesota] argued the decision to mask a child should fall to the parents.
'Who does God put in charge of these kids? Their parents. God gave each one of these kids… to their parents and they speak for them,” he said during the meeting. “They may be wrong, they may be dumb, they may be perfect in their decisions. But it’s still their responsibility. It’s not yours. God gave it to them. Honor their wishes, either side of the fence.'
Greg Gutfeld, host of Gutfeld! and cohost of The Five: Democrats get into power to exempt themselves from laws they force on others.
As long as they’re in power, they can dance mask-less in public and eat in a fancy restaurant while you’re under house arrest. S***, some can even marry their brother!! That must’ve been a cozy wedding. When they asked guests if they were relatives of the bride or groom, they all said 'yes'! Talk about dysfunctional.
As Minneapolis gets worse, mentally Ill-han calls the cops dysfunctional. But Omar calling anyone dysfunctional is like me calling anyone drop-dead gorgeous. Talk about the pot calling the kettle black. Or in this case the wife calling the brother, 'husband.'
