Vidalia High School baseball player Bryson Whited has signed his letter of intent to play for Georgia College and State University’s Bobcats. Whited has been an all around player for the Indians and will take those talents to Milledgeville next year. Whited has a .391 career batting average for the Indians with 76 hits, 11 of those were doubles, three triples, and two home runs. He also has 39 RBI’s, and has scored 73 runs. Whited is also in the starting pitching rotation and has pitched 138 innings with a 2.079 ERA, with 95 strikeouts, and has a 19-4 record with 2 saves. Whited was selected to the 2021 1st Team All Region Team for 2AA, and was selected to the Georgia Dugout Club 1st Team All State for 2021.

As a team in this group of seniors three years, they have made the Sweet 16 their freshman year, lost their sophomore year to COVID, and made the Elite 8 their junior year.

Whited said, “Very thankful for this opportunity and I am excited to go explore a new chapter in my life. I love the campus, and have been up there with Dad a few times since he played there, love the field, and the coaching staff, and everything that it has to offer. I want to thank my parents, all of my family for all of their support, all of my teammates and my coaches.”

His father Johnny stated, “Just really proud of him and all of his teammates. They have been working since they were five or six years old, putting in time and effort. When some kids were hanging out, they have been at the cages, the field, just working and trying to get to the next level. As a dad, just super proud of my son and his effort and just look for great things in the future.”

Coach Brent Korn added, 'Just another great athlete for us. He has just been our workhorse on the mound the last few years. He can pitch, and can also play in the field, just great all around player. We are expecting big things from him.'
