Obituaries
Mrs. Ann Oliver Clark, age 82, of Lyons, died Sunday, November 28, 2021, at Memorial Health Meadows Hospital after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Lyons. She was a 1956 graduate of Lyons High School, attended Wesleyan College in Macon, and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from the University of Georgia. She taught school for several years before taking an active role in business with her husband as his office manager at Ideal Pharmacy, Vidalia Monument Company, and Clark and Shaw Monument. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, John Durst Sunday school class, New Life Circle and served on various committees at the church throughout the years. She was a member of Preceptor Nu Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. She was very devoted to her entire family and enjoyed spending time with them. One of her greatest joys was being “Grandma” to her three granddaughters and her great-granddaughter. She is preceded in death by a daughter, Karen Leigh Clark; parents, Evelyn Sapp Carson and Marion Carson.
Her family includes her husband of sixty-one years, Billy Clark of Lyons; two children, Elizabeth Clark Shaw and husband Chuck of Lyons, and William Clark of Lake Oconee; three grandchildren, Anna Shaw Willyard and husband Connor of Vidalia, Lauren Shaw Hadden and husband Tyler, and Emily Shaw and fiancé Carlos Lora, all of Lyons; and one great-granddaughter, Aubree Kate Hadden.
The funeral was Thursday morning, December 2, at 11:00 at Lyons First United Methodist Church with Pastor Randall Smith officiating. Burial followed at Lyons City Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Connor Willyard, Tyler Hadden, Carlos Lora, Trent Akins, Scott Tuck, and Bill Hammock.
