Vikings Get 1-Point Wins

The Treutlen County High School Vikings basketball teams took on Emanuel County Institute and Dooly County last week. The girls split their games while the boys picked up two onepoint wins. vs. ECI

In the girls game the Lady Vikings had to battle to come away with their win. It was a back and forth game, but in the end Treutlen came outontop 35-34.

In the boys game the Vikings also got a onepoint win over the Bulldogs. ECI led 15-10 after the first period, and increased that lead to 3729 at the half. In the third the Vikings started to cut into the lead and trailed 53-49 at the end of the third. The Vikings outscored ECI 17-12 in the fourth to take a 66-65 win. vs. Dooly

Against the Bobcats of Dooly the Lady Vikings struggled to get their offense going. Dooly ran away with the win, 51-17. The boys had another close game and had to again come from behind. Dooly led 25-18 at the end of the first, and were on top 43-36 at halftime. Treutlen came back in the third to take the lead, 62-60. Treutlen held on in the fourth to get the win, 81-80. Treutlen was at Wilcox County on Tuesday of this week after presstime, and will be back in action on Friday as they travel to rival Wheeler County with the girls game to begin at 6:00 p.m. and the boys to follow.
