Mrs. Doris Swann

Mrs. Doris Powell Swann, age 94, died at Port Charlotte, FL, on December 16, 2021.

Mrs. Swann was a native of Vidalia, and had also lived in Limestone, Arlington, Macon, Unadilla, Athens, and Vidalia. She was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church, where her husband, Dr. Fred L. Swann, pastored until his death. She was also a retired dental assistant. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Fred L. Swann; her parents, Remer and Alta Powell; 2 sisters, Lois Stewart and Lottie Mae Adams; 2 brothers, John E. Powell and Remer Powell; and 1 great-granddaughter, Carson Bailey Cole.

Her family includes 1 son, David L. Swann and wife Kathy of Port Charlotte, FL; 2 daughters, Freddie S. Crawford and husband Bill of Watkinsville, and Susan S. Poznick and husband Jim Steverson of Greenwood, SC; 7 grandchildren, Cherie Miller, Scott Cole, Traci Swann, Brien Swann, Blake Meharg, Jordan Poznick, and Taylor Poznick; 8 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and beloved sister-in-law, Carol Swann Rodgers.

The graveside memorial service was held on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at Pinecrest Cemetery, at 12:00 noon, with Dr. Reed Crumbliss (a long-time family friend) officiating.
