The Vidalia High School Indians basketball team had a light week that was made even lighter as the only game they played last week was the boys game against Jeff Davis. The girls game had to be postponed due to COVID protocols. The boys made the most of it as they pulled away for the Region win. In the first period the Indians were out to a 1512 lead over Jeff Davis, and by the end of the first the score was 18-14 with VHS in front. Early in the second a three-pointer by Bryson Whited made it 23-19. VHS began to pull away in the second and by halftime they were on top 35-28.
Jordan Powell drove in for a basket, and Ty Dalley hit a three as VHS led 42-30 with 3:38 left in the third. VHS led 50-36 heading to the fourth quarter.
Sirrico Jones hit a three halfway through the fourth as VHS held a 6138 lead. VHS took the win 66-44 over the Yellow Jackets. The Indians were led by Dalley with 20 points, Whited added 16, Jacobi Washington scored 8 in the win.
