Mr. Harry “Skeeter” Toole, age 71, of Vidalia, died on Monday, January 17, 2022, at Community Hospice House after a brief illness. Mr. Toole was a lifelong resident of Toombs County, living in Lyons most of his life and then in Vidalia for the last several years. He started his career with Altamaha EMC in 1972 as a lineman, later as a purchasing manager and then retired in 2015. He soon returned to Altamaha EMC as a contractor. He served on the Toombs County Board of Education and later as a Toombs County Commissioner. He was a member of Inman Creek Masonic Lodge #491 in Johnson Corner, the Toombs County Booster Club and president of the World Turkey Federation in Toombs County. He was preceded in death by his parents, P.H. Toole and Helen Mulkey Toole; 3 sisters, Donnell Toole Shead, Joanne Toole NeeSmith and Kaye Toole Blankenship; 1 brother-inlaw, Gleen Nasworthy; and 2 nephews, Junior Shead and Brad Bell. His family includes his wife of 53 years, Debbie Toole of Vidalia; 2 sons, Barry Toole (Tracy) of Vidalia and Rodney Toole (Heather) of Louisville; 4 grandchildren, Casey Mc-Gowan and husband Tyler of Raeford, NC, Alexis Toole of Jonesboro, Rayna Toole of Lyons and Brandon Sinor of Charlotte, NC; 3 great-grandchildren and one to be born soon; 1 sister, Glenda Toole Nasworthy, and 1 brother, Larry Toole and wife Sandra, all of Johnson Corner; 1 brother-in-law, Russell Nee-Smith of Richmond Hill; and numerous nieces and nephews. The funeral service was held on Thursday, January 20, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Joey Copeland officiating. Burial followed in the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Chris Brown, T.J. Phillips, Adam Brown, Tyler Phillips, Avery Phillips, Beau Smith, Chris Garrett, and Dwayne Sharpe.
