Mount Vernon Man Charged in Drug Bust

Jamaal Andres McKinnon is being held in Treutlen County Jail after being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, possession of cocaine with intent to distribute, possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute (ecstasy), and posses sion of a f i rearm by a conv icted felon.

Th e Montgomer y County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police Department, and Oconee Drug Task Force united to execute a search warrant at McKinnon’s residence at 1012 Temple Street in Mount Vernon on January 20. Upon entering the residence, authorities discovered two pounds of marijuana, 10 grams of cocaine, 26 grams of ecstasy, a .22 caliber pistol, a 12-gauge shotgun, and scales.

The findings were determined to belong to McKinnon, who was immediately arrested and processed at the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office. He continues to await bond in Treutlen County Jail.

DRUGS AND GUNS – After executing a search warrant at a residence in Mount Vernon, officers confiscated drugs, guns, and scales, which the authorities believe were used to sell the substances.
