VHS Tennis Opens With Wins

The Vidalia High School tennis teams traveled to Tattnall County High School Tuesday afternoon and both teams came away with victories. The VHS girls won 3-0 and the boys won 3-1.

At 1st Singles, Allie Taufmann won 6-3, 4-6, 6-4. At 2nd Singles, Karle McDonald won 6-2, 6-2 and at 3rd singles, Bess Wilcox won 6-2, 2-6, 6-4.

Doubles matches ended early after the victory wassecured. Nevertheless, both teams were in a good position for a victory when their match was called. Kailyn Walker and Emma Beck at 1st Doubles won their first set and were winning the 2nd set when the match was called. Jesslyn Collins and Abby Brantley at 2nd Doubles were starting a tie-breaker for the 1st set when the match was called.

For the Boys Team, Danny Richardson won at 1st Singles, 3-6, 6-3, 6-2. Brycen Coleman, at 2nd Singles, won 6-4, 6-2 and Canyon Beckwon6-0,6-4. Jameson Rolen and Sukumar Paidi were tied 1-1 when the match was called.
