Jack McMillan Named Chief

Magistrate For Toombs County

After seeking qualified candidates for the position of Chief Magistrate, Chief Superior Court Judge of the Middle Judicial Circuit Robert S. Reeves and Superior Court Judge Tommy J. Smith chose Jack Emmett McMillan to serve the citizens of Toombs County.

A press release from the office of Judge Reeves noted that McMillan is familiar with the requirements of the office, having served as a Magistrate Judge since 2011. He replaces Rizza O’Connor, who recently resigned as Chief Magistrate continued from page

Before becoming a Magistrate Judge, McMillan made a career with AT& T and retired after 40 years of service. He is an active member of the Toombs County community and has been a member of Vidalia First United Methodist Church for 44 years.

McMillan will be sworn into his new position on February 17 at the Toombs County Courthouse.
