Police Chase Ends in Vidalia, Suspect Taken Into Custody
A chase that was initiated by a Candler County deputy near Metter last Friday night ended safely in Vidalia with a suspect being taken into custody. The pursuit began after Theodore Roundtree, 35, of Conyers was stopped by the deputy at the intersection of Highways 57 and 46 in Candler County then sped away.
The vehicle pursuit ended in Vidalia and Roundtree fled on foot. To o m b s County deputies and the Vidalia Police Department assisted the Candler County Sheriff’s Office by securing the scene as Roundtree was apprehended.
Roundtree was later charged with possession of a weapon during the commission of/or attempt to commit a crime; possession of firearms by a convicted felon; trafficking in methamphetamines; sale/manufacture, delivery of ecstasy, and fleeing, attempting to elude arrest. He was booked into the Candler County Jail.
