Ms. Gale Tapley

Ms. Clara Gale Tapley, age 72, died on Sunday, February 6, 2022, at The Oaks/Bethany in Vidalia.

Ms. Tapley was born in Vidalia and lived in Toombs County for most of her life. She was a 1967 Vidalia High School graduate and received her Registered Nursing License. She worked as a nurse for 23 years, retiring due to her declining health. She was Baptist by faith and was preceded in death by her parents, Denton Duston Tapley, Sr. and Bessie Whitaker Tapley; 2 brothers, Jack W. Tapley and Bobby H. Tapley; and 2 nephews, Roderick Tapley and David Tapley Kight.

She is survived by her children, Melissa Rollison Boyd of Albany and Desmond Robert Schneider of Macon; her siblings, Dustin Tapley, Jr and his wife Betty, and Dale Tapley Edwards all of Vidalia; her grandchildren, John Glen Boyd and his wife Robin of Beaufort, SC, and William Robert Boyd and his wife Hannah of Greenville, SC; sisters-in-law, Jean Tapley of Vidalia and Elizabeth Tapley of Peachtree City, GA; 6 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, February 26, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Downtown Bistro, 101 East Meadows Street, Vidalia. Everyone is invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Sweet Onion Animal Protection Society, PO Box 210, Vidalia, GA 30475.

Low Country Cremation and Burial is in charge of arrangements.
