Mrs. Maude Strange 87, of ….

Mrs. Maude Strange 87, of Oak Park, passed away Friday, February 25, 2022, at Community Hospice House in Vidalia following an extended illness. She was a lifelong resident of the Oak Park community.

Funeral Services were Monday, February 28, at 2:00 p.m. at Olney Primitive Baptist Church of Oak Park with Elder Bill Durrence and Pastor Wayne Rountree officiating. Pallbearers were Joseph Strange, Ricky Strange, JR, Jordan Davis, Paul Warren, Andrew Davis, Jim Beecher and Brian Mathis. Mrs. Strange was born January 25, 1935, in Lyons, to the late Lonnie Fields and Birty Fields. She loved spending time with her family, church, tending to her flowers and being a part of her community. Mrs. Strange was a retiree of the Emanuel County School System where she spent many years with her kindergarten classes. She was a member of Olney Primitive Baptist Church in Oak Park for many years and is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Artie Strange, Jr.; sisters, Louise Myers and Esther Trammell; and brothers, Doyle Fields and Elton Fields.

Survivors include her sons, Ricky Strange (Jennifer), Sr., of Oak Park, Terry Strange (Tracy) of Oak Park, Dale Strange (Ritch) of Austin, TX, Dana Strange (Magan) of Oak Park; Bonus daughter, Penny Hopkins of Oak Park; Brother, Gene Fields of Nunez; grandchildren, Christy Davis, Joseph Strange, Ricky Strange, Jr., Allison Strange, Victoria Strange, Paul Warren, Marina Warren, Amanda Jones and Stephanie Jones; along with numerous great-grandchildren and many friends.
