Vidalia Man Charged In Shooting
A Vidalia man has been charged with aggravated assault following a shooting that occurred on Friday, February 25, at 711 Aimwell Road.
Davis Romie Morris, 44, was arrested in connection with the shooting of Cornelius Powell, 37, of Stockbridge. Capt. Randy Clark with the Vidalia Police Department said in a press release that the incident arose over a custody dispute involving a juvenile.
Morris is being held in the Toombs County Detention Center on a felony warrant of aggravated battery, and misdemeanor warrants for cruelty to children in the third degree and simple battery. He was denied bond in his first appearance in Toombs county Superior Court.
