Mrs. Joyce A. Dukes

Mrs. Joyce A. Dukes, age 77, of Savannah died on Saturday, March 19, 2022. Mrs. Dukes was born on March 4, 1945, in Lyons. She was a waitress at Larry’s Restaurant where she retired after over 20 years of service. She was a longtime member of Bible Baptist Church where she was active with the Master’s Class Bible Study.

Mrs. Dukes was preceded in death by her parents Roy Alton and Rudene K. Parker; and her brothers, Jerome Parker and Frank Parker.

She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry Dukes; son, Gregg Dukes (Sandy); daughters, Karen “Charlie” Strickland (Mark) and Kelly “Sam” Battle (Chad, Sr.); sisters, Miriam Copeland (Paul) and Sara Wilson (Larry); grandchildren, Sean (Shai), Andrew, Austyn (Daniel), Brittany, Skylar (Kiersten), Haley, Brandon, and Laci; and great grandchildren, Emmy, Aliyah, Kaiden, Raelynn, and Theo.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 25, 2022, at Bible Baptist Church, 4700 Skidaway Road, Savannah, GA 31404. The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
