Heritage Wins Over DEA
The Vidalia Heritage Academy Eagles baseball team played two games last week against David Emanuel Academy. On Tuesday the Eagles hosted DEA and picked up the win by the run rule. They were at DEA on Friday with the Eagles again rolling over DEA.
Game 1
In the Eagles first game of the week, they got home runs from Ledger Curl and Greer Posey. JT Cofield threw a two-hit shutout of DEA with eight strikeouts on the way to the win.
Heritage jumped out with three runs in the bottom of the first inning to take the early lead. They added two more in the second and then four in the third to push the lead to 9-0.

10- 0. Curl and Posey both drove in three runs with Hardy Franklin adding two RBI's.
Game 2
JT Cofield would not be denied at the plate on Friday, picking up four hits and leading Vidalia Heritage Academy to a 10-3 win over David Emanuel Academy. Cofield singled in the first, homered in the third, homered in the fifth, and singled in the sixth.
VHA got things started in the first inning. The Eagles scored one run when Hardy Franklin doubled.
DEA evened things up at one in the bottom of the first inning.
VHA pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Cofield homered on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs.
VHA put up four runs in the sixth inning. The Heritage offense was led by Curl, Cofield, and Mason Beacham, all knocking in runs in the inning.
Beacham pitched VHA to victory. Beacham lasted five innings, allowing ten hits and two runs while striking out eight and walking zero. Cofield threw two innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Heritage tallied 10 hits in the game. Cofield and Curl all managed multiple hits for VHA. Cofield led Heritage with four hits in four at bats.
