Woman Critically Hurt In Sunday House Fire

The Toombs County Sheriff’s Office, Toombs County Fire Department, and Lyons Fire Department responded to a house fire at 10:56 a.m. Sunday morning that left a woman in critical condition.

A home located on Old Donald Anderson Road in Lyons, was completely engulfed in flames when responders reached the site. All occupants of the home had safely escaped the inferno but one woman, Amanda Ramirez, who received serious burns and was transported to a burn unit in Augusta by Air Evac.

Firefighters believe a space heater may have caused the blaze. The home was a total loss.
