big third inning. They put together a series of hits as they plated seven runs to take control of the game.
RTCA added four more runs in the fourth inning to put them on top 11-1. Heritage scored one more run in the bottom of the fifth, but it was not enough as they were playing two five inning games for the double header. That gave RTCA the 11-2 win.
Gage Brantley led the way for RTCA with five RBI's. TJ Stanley added three. Cam Williams was the winning pitcher for RTCA with eight strikeouts.
Game 2
The second game of the double header was a close contest. RTCA jumped ahead with three runs in the bottom of the first inning. Heritage picked up a run in the top of the second inning to close it to 3-1. Mason Beacham was on the mound for Heritage and settled down after the first inning and didn't allow another run. Heritage, though, also struggled to get the bats going against RTCA's pitcher Tripp Durden.
Heritage did score a run in the top of the fifth inning, the final inning of the game, to close it to 3-2, but RTCA took the win by that score. Durden had an RBI for RTCA, and Hardy Franklin drove one in for Heritage.
RTCA vs. Twiggs
Against Twiggs on Thursday RTCA plated three runs in the top of the first inning to take the early lead. But Twiggs came back with four in the bottom of the frame to jump ahead, 4-3. RTCA scored six more in the second as they took control of the game, 9-4.
RTCA added three in the fourth and two in the fifth to take the win by the run rule, 14-4. Caden Nance and Karson Evans led RTCA with two RBI's each. Britton Tabor got the win on the mound. RTCA and Heritage are both off this week for Spring Break.
