Mrs. Pearl Chester Lundy, age ….

Mrs. Pearl Chester Lundy, age 93, of Vidalia, died on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Meadows Park Health & Rehab in Vidalia after an extended illness.

Mrs. Lundy was born in Johnson County, living there and Laurens County as a child, and grew up in Bradenton, FL. She and her late husband lived in the southern U.S., including Hawaii. She moved to Vidalia in 1966, and retired from TG& Y Department Store. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Vidalia, the Steadfast Sunday School Class, and the Eastern Star. Preceding her in death were her husband, Dallas Stewart Lundy; her parents, Milo Eugene Chester and Minnie Lee Wynn Chester; 1 son-in-law, Hugh Tomlin; 1 grandson, Wyatt C. Tomlin; and 7 siblings, Rudolph Chester, Eugene Chester, Bobby Chester, Rose Chester Strickland, Mary Chester Carter, Frances Chester Baumgardner, and Ila Mae Chester. Her family includes 4 children, James S. Lundy and wife Denise of the Five Points Community, Carol L. Tomlin of Vidalia, Gail L. Hill and husband Jimmy of East Point, and Rev. Angela Pooley and husband David of Hickory, NC; 1 brother, Clifton Chester of Highpoint, NC; 2 sisters, Sandra Chester Graham of Rockledge, and Shirley Chester Hardy of Lothair; 5 grandchildren, Erin Griner of Nashville, GA, Stephanie Whitley and husband Paul of Ailey, Timmons Tomlin of Pooler, Charles Wesley Edenfield and wife Beth of Lyons, and Dallas A. Pooley of Hickory, NC; 3 greatgrandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service was held on Monday, April 4, 2022, at 3:00 p.m., in the chapel of Ronald V. Hall Funeral Home, with Pastor Joey Diers officiating. Burial followed at Pinecrest Cemetery. Pallbearers were Timmons Tomlin, J.R. Hardy, Dallas Pooley, Jeron Griner, and Joe Morgan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Pinecrest Paving Fund, c/o The City of Vidalia, P.O. Box 280, Vidalia, GA 30475, or to the charity of your choice.
