Brewton-Parker College Vice President of Athletics Chris Dooley, along with Head Men’s Basketball Coach Leonard Epps, has announced the hire of Jovan Coleman to the program’s coaching staff. “We are excited to have Coach Jovan Coleman join the BPC family”, Dooley said. “Jovan will be a great addition to the men’s basketball staff, and we look forward to what he and Coach Epps can build for the future of the program.”

Coleman comes to BPC as the newest assistant coach for the men’s basketball program after serving as an assistant alongside Epps at Toccoa Falls (Ga.). 'I would like to express my gratitude and thankfulness to Dr. Echols, Mr. Dooley, and Coach Epps for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to be a part of building something special here at Brewton-Parker College,” Coleman said. “I look forward to working with Coach Epps again and being able to minister to our student-athletes spiritually, academically, and athletically.”

Prior to Brewton-Parker, Coleman coached at Toccoa Falls where he assisted the leadership of the men’s basketball program. As the assistant coach, Coleman helped lead the Screaming Eagles to a first-place finish in the NCCAA South Region while remaining a contender within the Top-10 of the NCCAA rankings. In addition, the Screaming Eagles secured the program's most wins in the last seven years and the secondmost wins in school history.

Before his time at TFC, Coleman was the assistant coach for both the varsity boys’ and girls’ programs at Pearl High School in Pearl, Miss. He also was the head coach for the junior high boys’ program.

A Biloxi, Miss. native, Coleman studied at Mississippi State University earning his bachelor’s degree while working as a student assistant with the men's basketball team under coach Ben Howland.

Coleman will begin his coaching duties with the program immediately and will begin prepping for the upcoming season for the remainder of the off-season.
