Bulldogs Into The Elite 8
The Toombs County High School boys soccer team hosted the Wildcats of Rabun County in the second round of the GHSA State Playoffs last week and came away with a big win. With that win the Bulldogs are heading to the Elite 8. This will be their first trip to the Elite 8 since 2014. Toombs got another big game in goal from Alejandro Baez as he got the clean sheet with six saves in the game. The Bulldogs picked up one goal in the first half of the game and then added another goal in the second half to take the win, 2-0, over Rabun.
Pablo Castanon and Julian Marin-Vital each scored in the game for Toombs. Gustavo Delgado and Miguel Granados both had assists for the Bulldogs.
This week Toombs played in the Elite 8 on Tuesday after presstime. They were at the Blue Devils of Bremen. Toombs went into the game with a record of 13-4-2, while Bremen was 14-4-1. If Toombs wins that game, the Bulldogs will play on Friday against the winner of the Gordon Central vs. Pace Academy game.
