Mrs. Ellen Bankston

Mrs. Ellen Whipple Bankston, age 83, of North Little Rock, AR, died on February 12, 2022. Mrs. Bankston was born in Reidsville. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs. She was a member of P.E.O., a philanthropic organization where women celebrate the advancement of women: educate women through scholarships, grants, awards, loans and stewardship of Cottey College and motivate women to achieve their highest aspirations. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucian and Fostelle Whipple.

Survivors are her husband, William S. (Bill) Bankston; 1 son, William Spencer Bankston of Carmel, IN; 1 daughter, Leslie Prusi and husband Alex of Amelia Island, FL; 4 grandchildren, Ellen White, Caroline Bankston, William Bankston III and Annmaire Bankston; and other relatives and many friends.

A Celebration of Life Service was held on Friday, February 18, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., in the First United Methodist Church of Heber Springs, with Rev. Tommy Toombs officiating. A graveside memorial service was held on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at 12:30 p.m., at Lakeview Memorial Gardens.
